"This hypocrisy is so disgusting, in fact that the 1st look seems unimaginable. UNAIDS, an organization that works to halt the spread of HIV worldwide by promoting safe sex, empowering women and human rights, is itself considered a cesspool of gender intolerance, sexual harassment and bullying, according to a new report posted by an independent team of professionals on 7 December. ... The UNAIDS instruction, according to a group of professionals, has made a culture of work " fear, lack of trust and retaliation against those who talk about harassment and abuse of power."...The UNAIDS Council and the office of the Secretary-General are following in the footsteps of working quickly, demanding that [UNAIDS Executive Director Michel] sidibé and his colleagues in the Secretariat retire before a Fresh year and put a credible technocrat on temporary duty. ... It is not a safe time to fight HIV against the backdrop of reduced funding and attention to globalization and its causes. People with AIDS still need powerful fights on their behalf. Unfortunately, neither Michel sidibé, nor his entourage do not have a chance to ensure the voice of reliable power and frankness. If the institution they have tarnished is supposed to hold out this terrible moment in one piece as a valuable voice on behalf of more than 35 million people living with HIV, it must immediately take more swift and important action” (12/15).
