Study invites cellular proliferation keeps HIV-infected cells alive

Washington: a fresh study showed that cell proliferation actually protects HIV-infected cells alive in infected people, including the subsequent passage of antiretroviral therapy (art). The study is published in the journal Nature Communications journal. Cell proliferation is a process that results in a rise in the number of cells, in which the balance between cell divisions and cell loss happens through death or cell differentiation.

Scientists have tested that lowering cell proliferation has the ability to help reduce the number of infected cells and potentially lead to active healing from HIV. A research team in the vaccine and communicable disease Department at Fred Hutchinson cancer Research center combined mathematical models and immunological awareness to understand the genetic signature of HIV-infected cells.
