TORONTO - Lucara Diamond house. has unearthed the most important uncut diamond in recent history in its Karowe mine in Republic of Botswana, the Canadian company same on Thursday, beating its own record discovery from November 2015 that it struggled to sell for nearly 2 years.

The 1,758-carat diamond, larger than a ball, weighs near 352 grams (12.42 ounces), Lucara same in a very statement. The stone is second in size solely to the three,106-carat Cullinan Diamond, recovered in African country in 1905.

The stone is that the latest in a very series of high-value recoveries for the corporate at Karowe. Since introducing its XRT diamond recovery technology, Lucara has recovered twelve diamonds over three hundred carats, as well as a 472-carat and a 327-carat diamond in Gregorian calendar month 2018.

The 1,109-carat Lesedi La Rona, that Lucara recovered in November 2015, didn't meet its covert reserve worth at a June 2016 auction, putt pressure on the company’s shares. British diamond dealer Graff Diamonds finally bought it for $53 million in Sept 2017.

Forbes rumored late last year that Graff had created sixty seven finished gems from the stone.
