Fans of "handmaid's Tale" survived with a climber last season over whether aunt Lydia really died – but now Anne Dowd reveals the fate of his own character.

During the end of season 2 of July, aunt Lydia, who works as a handmaiden warden, went to find out Emily (Alexis Bledel), who knocked her with a stolen knife and pushed her down the stairs, leaving her fate uncertain.

Dowd told USA TODAY at the red carpet Emmy Awards on the first day of the week that aunt Lydia was still in good health and was on her way to season 3.

"She's really in good health. I know that," said the actress, who won her own first Emmy for "the maid's tale" last year. "I was told that this is not bad. I don't take anything else into account about her. I don't take into account what condition she's in, but she's in good health."

Now, when the return of Lydia proved, we expect, in fact she will come back with a vengeance.
