The Valdosta government Observatory Institute will not be closed from 10 PM on Sunday, Jan. From 20 to 1 am on the first day of the week, January. 21, if the weather permits, in order to give the inhabitants of the region the chance to see the perfect moon, the absolute lunar Eclipse, the star cluster of Constellations, the Orion Nebula and other celestial wonders. 

"Sunday night will give us the perfect moon, super moon and blood moon", - shared the Department of physics, astronomy and earth Sciences VSU.

"A total lunar Eclipse will be seen throughout North and South America. In Valdosta, a selective Eclipse will begin at 10:34 PM on Sunday, when the Month passes into the black umber of the earth's shadow. Need within hours, so a Month is entirely moved into the Umbra and started to replace the paint, such as red light passing through earth's atmosphere bends towards the moon. Red eclipsed by the Month must be visible from 11:41 p.m. Sunday to 12:44 am mon., at the moment the Month will come out of the shadow of Umbra.”

The inhabitants of the region have every chance to serenely follow the lunar Eclipse in any space, from the personal court to the OBSERVATORY of the APU. This will be the last absolute lunar Eclipse until may 2021.

The APU Observatory will not be closed from 6 am to 7 am on the first day of the week, so that guests have the opportunity to follow the merger between Venus and Jupiter.

The VSU Observatory is located on the roof of Nevins Hall on the main campus. In order to climb to the 4th floor (roof level), guests are required to use the stairs or Elevator at the South-Eastern entrance.
