More than 220 people were killed and some hundreds injured when a tsunami caused by a volcanic eruption hit the beaches of the Indonesian Sunda Strait at one point, authorities said on Sunday, questioning even more languid losses. 

Hundreds of houses were swept away by a wave that swept along the southern coast of Sumatra and the Western tip of the island of Java, around 9: 30 PM on Saturday.
