Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei expects India to be the second largest 5G market in 10 years, said Sunday a senior official of the firm. 

"We know India as a significant emerging market. In the long-term opportunities in the market 5G in India will be great and will yield only to China. This has the potential to be a long - term opportunity for 10 years," James Wu, President of the Southeast Asian area of Huawei Technologies, told reporters. 

Mass communication of GSM telecommunication branch predicts that by 2025 there will be 1.4 billion 5G connections in the world, which makes up within 15% of the joint market. Up to this point almost in the middle of connections in the USA will oformlyat 5G, 30 % of 5G in China and 5 percent in India. 

India will be the second largest market in terms of industry, Wu said. 

Huawei has tied up with Vodafone, Idea and Bharti Airtel NSE of 1.27 % for testing of 5G.
